An ancient Highland malt dating from 1798, Blair Athol hails from one of the most scenic regions in Scotland. Standing at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the foothills of the Grampian mountains, the distillery is nestled in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Perthshire. Here, the peaty land is comprised of rugged peaks and heather-covered moorland. Geographically, the area is one the largest whisky-producing regions, yet Blair Athol whisky holds its own against the other warm, rounded single malt whiskies produced nearby.
From the ancient waters of the Allt Dour (“the burn of the otter” in Gaelic), which flows from the slopes of Ben Vrackie, emerges Blair Athol, a mellow, deep-toned aroma boasting a strong fruit flavour with a smooth finish. Blair Athol is also an irreplaceable contributor to the Bell’s Blend, one of the most popular blended whiskies in the UK.
